Mandalorian Uj Cake.

3 ½ cups ground almond flour ((looks kind of grainy, that's fine))
1 ½ tsp baking soda

Sift these 2 together in a large bowl & set aside.

3 room-temperature eggs ((Separate the yolks & whip the whites until stiff peaks form))
1½ cups honey. ((I used Taweri honey, U can use standard clover honey))
1 cup UNSWEETENED thick Greek yoghurt
5 Tblsps orange (juice) concentrate.
1 ½ Tblspn grated orange zest (( the peel, not the white part))
½ cup of butter, melted. ((margarine can be used, but.....yuck))

Preheat oven to 350 ((325 for fan-bake))
Beat egg yolks well, then stir in honey, yoghurt, OJ concentrate, melted butter and orange zest.
Combine liquid mixture with dry, then gently fold in the whipped egg whites. Pour batter into well-greased 10 inch round baking pan..Bake until top is very golden.
About 25 to 35 minutes or until a wooden skewer poked in the middle comes out clean. Cool slightly then flip out onto a plate to finish cooling.
((NOTE!!: Well-greased means really WELL-GREASED. Use baking paper, also well-greased, on the bottom of the pan. This is a honey-based cake & will stick to a well-greased pan without baking paper. Also, you have to keep a close eye on this cake as it will go from done to burned in seconds)).

The Syrupy part:
1 ½ cup honey
1 ½ cups OJ. ((the concentrate, undiluted, is good here))

Mix honey & OJ together in a saucepan & bring to the boil. Reduce heat & simmer for 5 mins. Remove from heat & skim & discard froth from syrup. Cool a bit then pour carefully over finished cake. Poke cake gently with a wooden skewer to aid in absorbtion of syrup. Serve to hungry Mando'ade........quickly!

Mandalorian Red Gourd Soup

A delicious healthy soup served at the Oyu'baat on Mandalore

Ingredients

          o 1 lb sturgeon fillets (any large fish) or 1 lb salmon fillets ( any large fish)
          o 5 pickles
          o 2 onions
          o 2 quarts fish stock or 2 quarts chicken stock
          o 2 tablespoons tomato paste
          o 2 tomatoes, sliced
          o 3 tablespoons butter
          o 1 tablespoon capers
          o 1 bay leaves
          o 1 tablespoon olives
          o 3 1/2 ounces sour cream
          o 1 lemons, sliced

Directions

   1. Chop onion finely and fry in oil until light golden.
   2. Add tomato paste and butter and stew for 5 minutes.
   3. Add fish fillets.
   4. Pour the broth over the fish.
   5. Slice pickles.
   6. Add onion, capers, pickles, sliced tomatoes and a bay leaf to the broth.
   7. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
   8. Before serving, add sour cream, olives and lemon slices. Sprinkle with greens.

i might try this one except ill switch the fish to beef or pork...i hate fish lol...and what happened to the recipe for Mandalorian black ale?

...and what happened to the recipe for Mandalorian black ale?

It started smelling like feces, so I decided it might not be edible, I'm still working on the perfect recipe for Ne'tra gal though, one that tastes good and can keep for years.

And the soup can be made with beef, ham, sausage, chicken or mushroom. It's good soup too, I had for Christmas dinner, it's a Russian recipe.

just so you know im makeing the UJ cake for the new years party at my house...i just put the cake its self in the oven and it smells pretty shabla good...ill let you all know how it goes over with the family

Perfect, I haven't tried this recipe myself, but I have had the finished product, the perfect real world substitution for Mandalorian Black Ale!

2 1/2 quarts

    * Stale dark rye bread, cubed -- 1 pound
    * Water -- 3 quarts
    * Active dry yeast -- 1 (1/2-ounce) packet, or 2 1/2 teaspoons
    * Water, lukewarm (110°F) -- 1/4 cup
    * Sugar -- 1 cup
    * Raisins -- 2 tablespoons

Method

   1. Preheat oven to 200°F. Spread the cubes of bread on a baking sheet and place in the for about an hour, or until the bread is fairly well dried out.
   2. Bring the 3 quarts of water to a boil in a large pot. Remove from heat and immediately stir in the bread. Cover with a clean towel and let rest in a dark, cool place for 8-10 hours.
   3. Pour the liquid through a fine-meshed sieve or strainer, gently pressing one the bread to get the liquid out. Don't press too hard, or your kvas will turn cloudy.
   4. Mix the yeast with the warm water and a pinch of the sugar. Set the yeast mixture aside for 10 minutes to proof until foamy. Stir into the strained liquid along with the 1 cup of sugar until the sugar is fully dissolved. Cover again with the towel and let set another 8-10 hours.
   5. Strain the liquid again through a fine-meshed sieve or strainer and pour into a 1-gallon pitcher or container. Add the raisins and cover tightly with plastic wrap and a rubber band. Set in a dark, cool place for 4-5 days until the yeast sediment has settled to the bottom of the container and a clear liquid remains.
   6. Carefully pour off the clear liquid into a clean container or individual bottles, taking care not to disturb the yeast sediment. Chill well before serving...

sounds good but i gotta tell ya UJ cake is pretty shabla good athough i wasnt ready for the overwhelming sweetnesss lol
